List Maker, List Maker, Make Me a List
Wedding Planning Tips
On your big day there is so much going on and so many things to decide and keep track of. Our biggest suggestion for your big day (well prior to it, actually) is to make a master list of everything (one that can be copied) and the next biggest suggestion is DELEGATE! This post is going to list some of our suggestions on how to make your wedding day easier on you as the bride, your wedding party, and your wedding venue.
Have pictures of how you want your centerpieces to look (whether or not you're doing them yourself or your venue is in charge of them.) Include pictures of the buffet table layout and decor, even if your family is catering or you have a professional caterer. Having pictures of what you want the buffet table to look like helps with set up and less questions for you at the last minute.
Have someone other than just the bride know the layout and decor options of the reception and/or ceremony. We suggest the maid of honor. That person should also know the music line up.
If your wedding playlist is on your phone, make sure that someone knows the code to your phone as well as the line up for the songs (which song is for what activity). At GNG, we are happy to help with the music during the ceremony and teach your designated musician how to work our system for the reception so you can party and enjoy your day!
Have a list of who is getting flowers - bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. If the list can be attached to the flower boxes, that is the best option. That way, those helping with last minute touches don't have to ask the bride a million questions.
Have an idea of what you want the cake table to look like and have someone designated to decorate it, if your cake person is not already handling this.
Keep in mind that you will want to think about the wedding party line-up for the ceremony/proceeding down the aisle. If you don't let the venue staff or wedding party know the order in which you want your bridesmaids and groomsmen going down the aisle, we at GNG will go with tradition. (See our previous post on traditional order of proceeding down the aisle).
Your wedding day has a lot going on and a lot to think about, but at Garden Near the Green we want your wedding day to go as smoothly as possible. We want you to look back on this day as one of the best days of your life. So, we suggest that you save your sanity and make lists and delegate, even if it's saying "Do what you think is best." Utilize our staff's expertise when it comes to wedding day details. It's our pleasure to see the joy on your face on your special day. Stress less and make lists!!
